The process regarding:
Residential Purchases & Sales
Working with a Realtor
- Once you have chosen Hinnegan Law Professional Corporation, your realtor will forward the Agreement of Purchase and Sale to our office.
- Once received, we will begin the process of opening the file, and assigning it to one of our real estate assistants.
- An introductory email will be forwarded to you by our Office Manager so we many begin to gather the information required to process the transaction.
- Your file will be handled by the dedicated real estate assistant and the lawyer from that point onward.
- An appointment is required the week of closing to review the closing documents.
- On the closing date, you can expect our team to close your transaction with great care, attention to detail and in the most efficient manner possible.
Private Purchases & Sales
- It is typically the purchaser’s lawyer who drafts the agreement of purchase and sale.
- Trevor will either prepare the agreement (when acting for the purchaser) or review the agreement (when acting for the seller). The Agreement of Purchase and Sale should NEVER be signed prior to our review.
- Once the agreement is signed, it will follow the same process as stated above.
Mortgages
- Once mortgage instructions are received by our office, processing of the transaction can begin.
- A file is opened and assigned to one dedicated real estate assistant.
- Opening questions are sent, via email, by the Office Manager to connect you with the assistant on the file and to gather the initial information.
- The real estate assistant will work with you to gather the required statements, etc.
- On closing day, you can expect the team to take care of various payouts, etc. with care and accuracy.
Commercial Purchases & Sales

Farm Tenders
- The team will meet with you to determine the best strategy to effectively sell the property.
- A budget is set to assist with the advertising and promotion.
- A specific deadline is set for submission.
- Once the tenders have been received, Trevor will review all presented offers with you and offer assistance where required.
- Once the offer has been accepted, all steps will be taken to efficiently work towards the closing of the transaction.
Residential & Commercial Leases
- The team will work with you to review the lease as presented or perhaps draft the lease agreement as required.
